Set right on the beach, this is the budget option for those who want to spend some time on this marvellous stretch of sand. Brilliantly located, perfectly pleasant and with direct access to the gorgeous sand.

All the rooms are spacious, bright and comfortable, but those right on the beachfront are obviously the ones we prefer – the supplement in cost is well worth it. They look out across the bay from large picture windows and the terraces, complete with comfortable wicker chairs, make for the most perfect setting for a sun-downer. All interiors are in classic Burmese style, with polished wood floors and rattan furniture.

There are two restaurants serving regional and international cuisine, with an obvious emphasis on the locally caught seafood and fresh exotic fruits in the morning. A small outdoor spa, providing the usual massage treatments, and the inviting pool also has a Jacuzzi attached.
