The traditional style Pandaw ships are hand-crafted in brass and teak, making them some of the most beautiful and authentic to sail down the Irrawaddy. With each ship in the company offering between five and twenty comfortably furnished cabins, a Pandaw cruise is a wonderfully special experience and an informal, relaxed atmosphere always adds to the magic of your voyage. Enjoy dinner in the restaurant after your guided shore excursions, or relax with a beer on the outside deck – these boats really are made for outdoor living, with simple, authentic style cabins, no TVs or private balconies, and a real emphasis on an adventurous, relaxing journey through amazing scenery and the chance to explore some local hidden treasures.
Entirely owned by the Strachan family, the boats are kept to a very high standard and rigorously maintained. As a family business the company has no leveraging at all, and thus runs on a very solid financial foundation. Paul Strachan takes care of the Pandaw Charity and a fair portion of the company’s profits go into maintaining current educational and medical projects in Burma.
