On the far southeast shores of Inle Lake lies this hidden gem; Little Lodge Samkar. This private little lodge offers a slightly more off the beaten track base and is a great stop after an overnight trek from Kalaw, before heading to the North of the lake. The lodge is operated by the local Pa-O tribe and promises a complete cultural immersion. Although pretty basic, the beautifully designed Shan style rooms are perfectly comfortable and the real bonus of the little lodge – the stunning views from the roof terrace!
