Located in a quiet back street in the village of Nyaung Shwe, La Maison Birmane is on of our favourite little boutiques in the area. Just a short stroll takes you to the bustling local market and the river jetty to pick up your motorboat for a tour of Inle. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and arranged over 10 bungalows and chalets with a mix of modern asian architecture and traditional Burmese touches. Each bungalow has a large private terraces with parasol and loungers with views over the colorful organic vegetable gardens. All rooms feature king size beds, clean en-suite bathrooms with rain showers and fans in all sleeping areas. The communal lounge serves a simple daily breakfast and compared to local prices, this place offers great value if you can get a room! The hotel is closed for renovations every June.
