This itinerary offers a more in depth exploration of Burma taking place within a two week window. The itinerary focuses on the with the main sights and experiences in what we regard as the “must see parts of the country”
Yangon, the former capital of Burma with its bustling streets, fascinating markets and the most revered Buddhist site in the country, the Shwedagon Pagoda. Inle Lake, one of the most beautiful parts of the country where you can stay in stilted accommodation over the lake and take boat trips to explore charming villages. Bagan is renown for the the hundreds of temples dotted around the landscape which you can explore by foot or bicycle. Mandalay, immortalised in verse, is a great base to explore the ancient capitals which are accessible by boat or car. We also feature a few of our personal favourites – a visit to the hill tribes or elephant sanctuary in Kalaw, a day cruise down the Irrawaddy and a relaxing 3 night stay on the beach in Ngapali.
This itinerary will really allow you to get under the skin of this intriguing country and leave lasting memories as you interact with some of the most warm and welcoming people in Asia.
