Well-kept gardens, a pleasant shady courtyard and an inviting pool lend this small mid-range hotel its rather unique charm. Also its ideal location close to New Bagan, Eight Faces Paya and the Archaeological Museum gives this boutique stay a bit of an edge over the competition.

The team at The Areindmar provide attentive and friendly service and the rooms are without doubt very comfortable, although they would have been better situated overlooking the central courtyard directly – the corridor should really have been built on the other side! Whilst luxuriously appointed recent visits by our team and guests have left us worrying that the rooms may be starting to become a little tired. However, whilst the rooms could do with a small injection of love, the grounds and the public areas – shady swimming pool, small lilly pond, filled with floating candles at night, open-air restaurant, lobby and bar that blend into each other – are all beyond reproach. Its all very stylish.

This is a small hotel with a homely feel. There are a number of other places to eat within a 5 minutes walk of the hotel, where you’ll find very good, cheap traditional Burmese cuisine.
